Understanding the Differential

The differential is a crucial component in the drivetrain of a vehicle, responsible for distributing power from the engine to the wheels while allowing them to rotate at different speeds during turns. In a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) BMW, the rear differential plays a pivotal role. It consists of a complex set of gears and bearings enclosed within a housing, which connects to the rear axles. Differential Seals
