Mercedes-Benz Service B is a regular maintenance service recommended by Mercedes-Benz for its vehicles to ensure optimal performance, safety, and longevity. The specific tasks included in a Service B appointment may vary depending on your vehicle’s model, year, and mileage, but typically, it involves the following maintenance items.

  • Oil and Filter Change

The engine oil and oil filter are replaced to ensure the engine operates smoothly and efficiently.

  • Brake Inspection

The brakes are inspected for wear, and brake components are checked for proper functionality. Brake fluid may be replaced if necessary.

  • Tire Rotation and Inspection

The tires are rotated to promote even wear, and their condition is inspected. Tire pressures are also checked and adjusted.

  • Fluid Checks and Top-Ups

All essential fluids, such as coolant, power steering fluid, windshield washer fluid, and transmission fluid, are checked and topped up as needed.

  • Air Filter Replacement

The engine air filter is inspected and replaced if it’s clogged or dirty. A clean air filter is essential for optimal engine performance.

  • Cabin Air Filter Replacement

The cabin air filter, responsible for clean air in the passenger compartment, is checked and replaced if necessary.

  • Serpentine Belt Inspection

The serpentine belt is inspected for wear and cracks. It may be replaced if deemed necessary.

  • Suspension and Steering Check

The suspension and steering components are inspected for wear and proper function.

  • Engine Component Inspection

A thorough inspection of various engine components, including hoses, belts, and electrical systems, is performed to ensure everything is in good condition.

  • Reset Service Indicator

The service indicator on the dashboard is reset to reflect that Service B has been completed.

Mercedes-Benz recommends Service B at specific mileage intervals or time intervals, typically every 20,000 to 30,000 miles or every two years, whichever comes first. It’s essential to adhere to the recommended service schedule to maintain your vehicle’s performance, safety, and warranty coverage.
